Car Share & Bike to Work

Following the Boards decision at its meeting on 04 March 2025 the FE1 bus service ceased on 25th May 2025. The Board also wished to have alternative methods of access investigated and promoted.

Car Sharing

The Lift Share scheme links drivers and passengers together to share their journey. It can also help to reduce traffic congestion and save you money on fuel. Because of the organisation involved, car-sharing is most appropriate for planned or regular journeys but can also be used for one-off journeys. Cycling

With the continuing development of the local cycle path network cycling from the rest of the conurbation to the estates is becoming increasingly viable as a mode of transport.

The Bike2Work scheme is a free employee benefit approved by the government, designed to get more people cycling to work and living healthier lives. As an employer, you know the benefits of offering a competitive benefits package to employees and candidates. But most benefits come at a cost to the business, which isn’t always feasible. Bike2Work is not only free but it can save you thousands in national insurance contributions and contribute to workplace productivity.

The scheme enables employees to save up to 47% off the cost of a new bike.
